Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm, raking in Rs 61.85 crore on its opening day and crossing Rs 100 crore in India within just two days.
Kantara Chapter 1, starring and directed by Rishab Shetty, has captivated audiences with its excellent direction and brilliant story of the ancient Kadamba era. This pan-Indian film Kantara Chapter 1 was released on October 2, 2025, and continues to see crowds in theaters even after the festival season. Released in multiple languages including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. It has been making waves popular across India. Rishabh Shetty’s film had a strong opening day. According to a report by Sacnilk, it earned Rs 61.85 crore worldwide on its first day. Of this, Rs 19.6 crore came from the Kannada version, Rs 13 crore from Telugu, Rs 18.5 crore from Hindi, Rs 5.5 crore from Tamil, and Rs 5.25 crore from Malayalam. Audiences praised the film’s story, cinematography, and the Bhoota Kola festival scene. On the second day, Friday, collections dropped by approximately 25% to Rs 46 crore, but the film’s popularity remained intact.

After a slight decline on Saturday, the film made another splash on Sunday. As reported by Sacnilk, on the third day, the film earned Rs 55.25 crore. The Kannada version added Rs 14.5 crore, Telugu Rs 11.75 crore, Hindi Rs 19 crore, Tamil Rs 5.75 crore, and Malayalam Rs 4.25 crore. The film earned Rs 12.52 crore from Sunday morning shows alone. So far, the film’s total collection in India has reached close to Rs 170 crore and it is expected to cross the Rs 200 crore mark soon.
