Ryan Reynolds chose to hurl profanities at wife Blake Lively rather than miss a phone call from Bill Murray.
On Thursday (September 25), the 48-year-old appeared at a screening of his new documentary John Candy: I Like Me held at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
During the event, Ryan, who produced the doc, said that he left “40 messages” for the 75-year-old Groundhog’s Day actor in an attempt to get him to participate in the project about the late comedian John Candy, according to The Daily Mail.

“I’ll come to you. I’ll do whatever it takes,” Ryan recalled saying in his message.
Later, Ryan and Blake, 38, were stepping out for a formal event when Bill finally called him back.
“I’m there with my wife and we’re about to walk in and my phone buzzes, and I look at it,” Ryan said. “It says Bill Murray and I go, “Bill Murray!”
In response, Blake whispered to him, “We have to go in!” to which Ryan hurled back, “F–k you!”
After Bill said that he would get back to him, but then didn’t, Ryan “left another 40 messages” in a “desperate” attempt to wrap filming the documentary.
Ryan then decided to use two of his kids, including 2-year-old son Olin, and created a video message that he sent to Bill.
“I said, ‘If you say no to a child like that, I don’t know what kind of monster you are,’” the Deadpool actor joked.
The tactic worked and Bill called him back “two seconds later.”
“What do you need from me for JC [John Candy]?” Ryan recalled Bill asking.
There were recently false rumors that Ryan was feuding with this Oscar-winning actor.
