Jim Koch is returning to the position of president and CEO at the company he founded in 1984, when he began brewing Samuel Adams. The Boston Beer Co. announced Friday that Koch, who led the company from 1984 to 2001, will return to the job on Aug. 16. Outgoing CEO Michael Spillane will step down the day before, moving into an advisory role through March 31, 2026, the announcement said.
