Actress Shruti Haasan had an unexpected but amusing encounter when she went to see her new flick Coolie at a Chennai theatre on its release day, Thursday (August 14). Despite being the film’s lead lady, Shruti was temporarily refused access when the venue’s security guard failed to identify her and stopped her car. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the actress sitting in her car with friends, attempting to enter the premises. In the video, shared on Instagram stories by Singaporean-Tamil singer Yung Raja, the guard is seen stopping her vehicle.
Shruti’s playful address to…
Amused by the situation, Shruti playfully addressed him, saying, “I’m in the movie. Please allow me, anna (brother). I am the heroine, sir.” The incident has left everyone in the car in splits. The guard ultimately allowed them in.
Rakesh Gowthaman, the owner of Vettri Theatres, where the event took place, later reposted the footage on X (previously known as Twitter). Adding a light-hearted caption, he wrote, “My man Raayal over performed his duty. Hilarious moment. Thanks for being with us @shrutihaasan mam… Hope you enjoyed the show!!! #CoolieFDFS in #Vettri.”
