Selena Gomez & Hailey Bieber Avoid Red-Carpet Collision After Shutting Down Drama

Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber narrowly avoided a red-carpet run-in at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.

Both women attended the event just hours after Selena took to Instagram Stories to address drama over their beauty brands.

Hailey is married to Selena’s ex, Justin Bieber, and the women are often pitted against each other.

The most recent dustup started when The Wall Street Journal asked Hailey if her company Rhode Skin was in direct competition with Selena’s Rare Beauty.

Hailey replied, “It’s always annoying being pitted against other people. I didn’t ask for that. When people want to see you a certain way and they’ve made up a story about you in their minds, it’s not up to you to change that.”

On Saturday, Selena shut down negative buzz over Bieber’s comments, writing on her Stories, “Just leave the mami alone. She can say whatever she wants. Doesn’t affect my life whatsoever. It’s just about relevance not intelligence. Be kind.”

Gomez added, “All brands inspire me [and] there is room for everyone, and hopefully we can all stop.”

Meanwhile, the women were never photographed together at the Academy Museum Gala.

Selena attended with husband Benny Blanco, marking their first red carpet since they tied the knot.

Gomez stunned in an Armani Privé black gown adorned with crystals and paired the look with a velvet jacket and De Beers jewelry, while Blanco chose a midnight blue velvet Armani suit.
