Selena Gomez is celebrating bestie Taylor Swift‘s engagement by looking back at advice on love that she publicly gave her back in 2009.
The two entertainers have been BFFs for years and today they are engaged at the same time. Selena is set to marry Benny Blanco and she just had her bachelorette rave this past weekend while Taylor is today engaged to football player Travis Kelce.
Back in 2009, Selena tweeted about discussing love with two nine year olds.
“Discussing love with two 9 yr olds. That’s what love supposed to be. Truly amazing, I’m never leaving Canada,” Selena tweeted back then.
Taylor had an insightful response.

One of the nine year olds that Selena referenced in her tweet was likely Joey King. The tweet was sent out when they were filming Ramona and Beezus together, though Joey had just turned 10 a few days earlier.
A couple years later, Taylor cast Joey in her “Mean” beat video. quick forward to 2023, Joey was actually hanging out with Taylor the night before Travis came into her life.
Joey was a special guest on stage at the first Kansas City show of the Eras Tour to debut their “I Can See You” beat video. Travis attended the second Kansas City show and that’s the night he wanted to meet Taylor and hand her his phone number on a friendship bracelet!
