According to sources, the rumors are in fact true, and the drivers are landed the coveted seats on Cadillac’s new team, which will be the 11th on the grid starting in 2026.
While the news has not yet been made official by the drivers or the team at the time of this post, an announcement is expected within the next week, ahead of the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday (August 31).
Rumors have been swirling for a while today around Sergio and Valtteri, especially after the latter shared a video back in June, showing off a Cadillac SUV, with the caption, “Do we like this seat?”
After the 2024 season, it was announced that Sergio would not return to the grid in 2025, parting ways with Red Bull after first joining the team in 2021. He has also driven with Sauber, McLaren and Force India/Racing Point (today Alpine).
Valtteri has previously been a driver with Williams, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo/Sauber (soon to be Audi) and back to Mercedes as a reserve driver for 2025.
