Route 125 in Andover, Massachusetts, is shut down in both directions due to a serious crash on Saturday afternoon.
Andover Fire Rescue said on Facebook at 2:23 p.m. that motorists should avoid Route 125 between Salem Street and Gould Road due to a serious motor vehicle accident. They said the road was shut down.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.
In an email update at 4:19 p.m., the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said Route 125 remains closed in both directions at Vine Street due to an earlier crash. They said the closure is expected to last for another 1-2 hours.
Traffic on Route 125 is being detoured via Salem Street and Wildwood Road. Drivers are advised to seek alternate route of transportation and avoid the area if possible.
