The tribute to The Eagles, so to speak, did receive reactions from every possible corner. The legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist had shared a repost from @lordrarerock that went into detail about the band and its legacy; the timeless lineup, and the outsized imprint that they put onto the track history. Some fans indeed basked in all of that nostalgia, but others had… thoughts.

It was a lengthy account of that golden era of the Eagles, emphasizing their track, which literally set a genre to live in, and the sheer individual talent presented by the likes of Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Randy Meisner, and Don Felder. Among them were some well-known numbers-the ones of Hotel California and Take It Easy fame. The accompanying picture had two musicians in the studio vibing hard, fittingly setting the tone for a post on track living legends.
The comments? They went a very different way. Many fans totally hopped on the Eagles bandwagon. One user reminisced, “Ah they were brilliant, so many memories in these songs,” whereas another tried to give Joe Walsh props for being the “good eagle.” One other went down the sentimental road with, “My first real boyfriend got me hooked on the Eagles. I thank him for that.”
Then we have… Marcus. Marcus went on, and on, and on-and none of that was about the Eagles. Marcus just went off on Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and somehow got to “Mickey Mouse in a Rock Band” territory. He even asked if Guns N’ Roses was “looking for a new singer”-okay, brave comment for Slash. One thing he said is that Eagles “was an American thing, nothing for me,” which, yeah, okay-why comment then?
Other comments kept it classic with mentions of “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” while another threw Bernie Leadon-a somehow absent early member of the Eagles-who curiously was absent from the original post-into the spotlight. A shout-out to the Warriors timeline was somewhere in the mix-as In the City will forever be tied to the legendary closing of that movie.
In any case, whether nostalgic, fiery, or just wackadoo, Slash’s post banger very big chords in the comments. today, while the Eagles could be divisive (for a reason we all know and love by today and go by the name Big Lebowski), one thing did come to be unquestionable; the post itself proved that track fans WILL loudly voice their opinions.

As for Marcus-wishing you a very happy birthday. Maybe tonight calls for you to unplug, buddy.
