Life of an aristocrat
Rao Bahadur is set against the backdrop of a crumbling aristocracy. It chronicles the story of a reclusive protagonist (played by Satyadev) who lives in isolation in a haunted mansion. He believes himself to be cursed, not by a spirit, but by the embodiment of doubt itself. Dark clouds loom over the demon of doubts while Bahadur struggles to comprehend between reality and illusion. The video teases fragments of his past, including a mysterious love story that seems to open deeper emotional and psychological layers. On the other hand, a parallel narrative unfolds through the lens of a police investigation adding curiosity to the story.
Satya Dev’s layered role
Satya Dev looks authentic as Rao Bahadur. His character has different shades spanning across multiple timeline, from youthful innocence to aged wisdom. As every look of his character opens, the teaser unfolds the story. Going by the teaser, the film would easily be the actor’s best performance. It also introduces other main characters played by Vikas Muppala, Deepa Thomas, Anand Bharathi etc. Venkatesh Maha’s storytelling looks like a mix of psychological thrills and dark humour with poetic elegance. Known for his critically acclaimed contemporary films C/o Kancharapalem and Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, Venkatesh has turned focus on a horror thriller that has all the right ingredients. Visually too, the teaser looks beautiful, cinematographer Kartik Parmar’s work sets the right tone for the film. Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar’s GMB Entertainment are presenting Rao Bahadur that is slated for a release in Summer 2026.
