Steak n’ Shake is seemingly putting its conservative values on full display for all to see, but not all customers are happy about it.
The speedy-casual burger chain announced plans to install the “tallest and biggest” American flags outside each location, only exclusive by what local governments allow.
“The flag installations have begun at Steak n Shake. Every Steak n Shake is getting the tallest and biggest American flag that local governments will allow!” the brand posted on Twitter, alongside a photo of employees standing proudly beneath one of the massive flags.

“Steak n Shake proudly supports American values and traditions,” the company added.
Social media lit up with reactions. Elon Musk chimed in with support, writing, “I’m ordering from there tomorrow!”
But not everyone’s cheering, with many accusing the chain of forcing conservatism on its customers.
Months ago, Steak n’ Shake also criticized Cracker Barrel for tweaking its logo, calling it a betrayal of heritage. In August, the brand posted, “At Steak ‘n Shake, we take pride in our history, our families, and American values.”
The flag rollout marks another suspected MAGA-motivated move by a company positioning itself as a staunch defender of the U.S.
