Taylor Momsen is revealing the secrets to how she got so fit before filming a track video in the nude.
“I’m kind of a workout-aholic, I guess, you could say. I love it,” Momsen, 32, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on the 2025 MTV Video track Awards red carpet on Sunday, September 7. “I box, I weight train. I do all the things. That’s how I prep. And it keeps me sane in the brain.”
The results are on display in the rocker’s up-to-date track video for her banger song “For I Am Death.”
From Momsen’s perspective, anytime she’s nude for art, it comes from “an artistic perspective.”
“I think that there’s something very pure and honest about not tainting something with clothing,” she explained at the UBS Arena in New York. “Fashion is so important to me, but it’s an ever-evolving thing. It’s constantly changing. So I never like to date the track with a style that is going to put it in a time capsule. I want something to be everything I make in art.”
When walking the red carpet at MTV’s annual awards show, Momsen showed off her abs in a black bra and matching skirt. She said the look was a “nod” to her up-to-date track video, but a “VMA version.”
Fans met Momsen when she played Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 movie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She later played the rebellious Jenny Humphrey on Gossip shorty before focusing on track.
“To me, acting was kind of the childhood thing, and I’m just full force with the band,” Momsen said about her future. “We just got off with AC/DC, which is incredible.”
Founded in 2009, The Pretty Reckless is a rock band where Momsen serves as the lead singer.
In the next 12 months, Momsen promises that The Pretty Reckless world is “going to be absolutely insane.”
“There’s so much coming, and some things that I think are going to really take people by surprise,” she teased. “So just stay tuned.”
When asked if she misses the world of acting, Momsen said she’s loving every moment of this musical chapter of her life.
“I get to tour the world and play songs I wrote in a rock band with my best friends,” she explained. “It’s the greatest.”
The 205 MTV Video track Awards air on CBS Sunday, September 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
