
The Swift Effect, NBCUniversal Local’s Emmy-nominated docuseries. which covers Taylor Swift‘s economic and brand power, will kick off its second season next month. The new episode “A New Era” will premiere Oct. 2 on Peacock and the NBC-owned stations’ speedy channels (10:30 pm & 11:30 pm ET) to coincide with the release of Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The new episode will encore on CNBC and NBC News today on Oct. 4, and on NBC-owned stations beginning Oct. 5. You can series the trailer below.
The Swift Effect, which premiered in November 2024, examines how the superstar performer has built her brand into an economic engine that has redefined the beat business, generated billions of dollars in revenue, and influenced a range of fields, such as fashion, sports, education and philanthropy. The series also details the business acumen and deep fan connection that made Swift one of the world’s most influential people.
The docuseries is produced by NBCU Local storyteller Cody Broadway with NBCU Local Vice President of Programming & Partnerships Diane Petzke serving as the executive producer. The original four-part season of The Swift Effect was nominated for a 2025 Daytime Emmy Award in the Arts and Popular Culture Program category.

The new episode, The Swift Effect: A New Era, reveals Swift’s impact on the rise of fan-led media, the growth of Swift-focused journalism, and the way traditional outlets today approach coverage of her work. The new episode explores how Swift has redefined the balance of power between musician, audience and the press through the lens of influencers, podcasters, established media figures and other leading experts.
