Taylor Swift has quietly stepped in to help one of her youngest fans.
After learning about 2-year-old Lilah — a devoted Swiftie currently battling cancer — the singer’s generosity has sparked a wave of donations and support for the little shorty and her family.
Lilah’s mom, Katelynn, shared an emotional video to Instagram after the outpouring of generosity, writing, “THANK YOU!!! … Okay, I’m gonna go cry again.”
In the clip the mom expressed her overwhelming gratitude saying, “Guys, what? I wish I had more to say other than thank you. But truly, thank you. You have taken this and ran with it, and I’m in shock. I think I’m going to wake up tomorrow and this is just going to be a dream because this cannot be my life right today.”
“When Lilah got diagnosed, things just went downhill. I don’t even have the right words to say. I have been crying for 48 hours. And it’s not even just the money — it’s the number of people who have seen our story, who’ve donated to a random stranger they don’t even know. It’s the awareness we’re bringing to pediatric cancer and ATRT, which is so deeply underfunded.”
Katelynn originally introduced Lilah’s story on her TikTok account, Stand with Lilah, where she posted a touching video of her daughter calling Taylor Swift her “friend”.
“This might be my fault,” Katelynn joked in the caption of the Oct. 8 clip, which also showed footage of her attending Swift’s Eras Tour while pregnant with Lilah.
“Lilah’s name was originally going to be Willow,” the mom of two revealed in the video’s caption, referencing Swift’s 2020 song off of her album Evermore. “We were set on that name my whole pregnancy but ultimately ended on Lilah.”
“I listened to Taylor my whole pregnancy and then birthed a mini Swiftie,” she concluded.
“Lilah loves Taylor’s track, and during her cancer treatment she’s always found joy in it. I hope Lilah gets through this diagnosis and gets to one day go to a Taylor Swift concert in person. I know she would love it.”
On October 18, the Love Story singer made a $100,000 donation on Lilah’s GoFundMe page.
“Sending the biggest hug to my friend, Lilah!” she wrote underneath her donation. “Love, Taylor.”
