Taylor Tomlinson continues the comedy on Instagram, making jokes about love while promoting a show with fellow comedian Dustin Nickerson. The post read, “Dustin met his wife in high school and I’m very jealous. Come see me and @dustinnickerson in Los Angeles at the Greek on Sunday!!!” Subsequently, the post turned quickly into one big wall of humor, especially since viewers went down into a transcription of the clip where the two were riffing about anything and everything from Pokemon Go to very questionable kinds of romantic awakenings.

Taylor narrates her Pokemon Go name in the video: ‘shiny, dusty nicks.’ Level? Forty-two for those keeping the score. The real gold, though, was that quasi-absurd side story of someone listing Machoke, the four-armed Pokémon, as their ‘queer awakening.’ With Taylor deadpanly stating, ‘Google Machoke real quick, and I explain,’ the audience erupted into laughter that had no limit. At least one person humorously stated they would change their dating profile to read, ‘I’m 6’2” but I’m not four-armed or blue or a Pokémon.’
The crowd spilled over the comment section and created its own comedy show anticipatory of more of these candid confessionals. One user stated, “At the end of the tour, Taylor really should consider a whole extra hour of just these confessionals. They’re so good,” while another chimed in, “This is best tier content and we need more lmfaoooo.” Dustin’s Pokemon Go friendship status was flex-worthy, where a fan bragged: “My ‘lame claim to fame’ is that @dustinnickerson is my friend on Pokemon Go and we send gifts back and forth.”
But then, of course, there were the non-believers. One user scoffed, “Definitely going to add!!….Wait…..beneficio….Wow, nvm,” referencing the division amongst the faction rivals. Meanwhile, another participant took the height joke as a personal attack and responded, “Oh no! I am 5’3”! lol.”
Early days taught Taylor that throwing strange topics into a comedy keeps inducement ever-recurring into the fold. From his romantic endeavors to the concept of romance about fictional creatures, his style of comedy felt relatable with a fresh standpoint. With his show on the horizon at the Greek Theater in L.A., it seems that he is here to stay.
The conversation in the comment section for the post about relationships went less cynically with one commenting, ‘It’s not necessarily about the size of the man but the size of his heart that matters.’ A far more upfront one followed with bluntness, ‘I’ve used Pokémon Go to get laid. So trust I’ve had sex with more people than you have, Taylor.’
With sharp-witted verba went on to extinguish the profession of Taylor, adding contributions to her comedic bit in the comments section as they debated against Pokemon evolutions or reminisced about their own ‘lame claim to fame.’ All of this interaction only confirms that Taylor speaks the language of her humor loudly and clearly for her audience. It is this very keen observation combined with a bit of ludicrousness that puts every one of Taylor’s comedic bits into viral fame.
