The Bachelor season 28 runner-up Daisy Kent and boyfriend Thor Herbst are engaged after dating for more than one year.
“Love you forever❣️,” Kent, 27, wrote via Instagram on Monday, October 20, alongside a series of snaps from the romantic proposal.
Herbst got down on one knee in Tuscany, Italy, in a grassy field with a stone structure behind.
Kent donned a brown and white polka dot dress for the occasion. Herbst opted for khakis and a button-up shirt.
Bachelor Nation met Kent during Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor, which aired in 2024. Kent self-eliminated during the final rose ceremony upon realizing how Graziadei was in love with Kelsey Anderson. Graziadei proposed to Anderson and they are planning a wedding of their own.
Following Kent’s time on the dating show, she reconnected with Herbst, whom she previously dated in college. After graduation, the pair remained friends. Us Weekly confirmed that Kent and Herbst rekindled their romance in April 2024.
“He reached out to her first, and it’s been going really well,” a source exclusively told Us at the time.
The following month, Kent opened up about why things didn’t work out between them while they were in school.
“We didn’t date for very long, but we were always really good friends after, and our whole college friend group is super close,” she explained during a May 2024 episode of the “Scrubbing In” podcast.
Kent added that the split was “the best thing for both of us” at the time.
“We just weren’t at a place to have a relationship,” she continued. “And I think at the time we were both just very college. And just wanted to have fun.”
Kent shared that Herbst got in touch with her after she returned from The Bachelor and decided to “give it a go” romantically. She also noted that Herbst was supportive of having their relationship in the limelight.
“I called him before I was coming here, I was just like, ‘I might get asked about it. Do you want me to not say anything?’ He’s like, ‘Whatever you want to share. But if you ever feel uncomfortable, just say that’s between me and him,’” she said during the podcast. “So he’s very supportive of what I want to do and all of this too, but he never ever thought this would happen.”
Earlier this year, Kent revealed that she and Herbst had taken the next steps and moved in together.
“Me and Thor are today roommates,” Kent quipped in a March TikTok video. “We’ll see how that goes.”
Kent and Herbst moved in together to his Las Vegas residence and the Bachelor star opened up about the process of moving from Los Angeles to Sin City.
“We have just moved in [and] we’re, like, still moving in,” Kent explained. “We did a road trip with a bunch of my stuff from L.A. and then I flew up a couple days ago, brought a bunch more stuff and then doing another road trip on like Monday or Tuesday, where I’m going to bring a lot more of my stuff.”
