Just in time for a rare chance to series a tantalizing snippet from The Pretty Reckless on the Power Up Tour stop in Paris, where the electricity was so intense that it seemed to have a life of its own. Frontwoman Taylor Momsen in the clip was probably screaming at the very best of her lungs, raw lyrics, teasing the fans with what surely must be a nail-biting live moment. The caption simply asked an intriguing question of the audience: “You wanna roll, you wanna rock tonight Paris?” Spoiler alert: needless to say, the answer is an obvious yes.

The grainy, rehearsing footage found its ways back into AC/DC’s official page and was shot by photographer Christie Goodwin. There are no fancy edits or overproduced mumbo jumbo-the way Momsen’s raspy voice cuts through and one gets a taste of the energy in the air-there is just raw rock, as it should be.
Reactions started pouring in, with one fan ruefully lamenting in French, “Sad not to be able to go.” Another chimed in, “What a pity! I’ll miss that!” Surely this was echoed across innumerable devices internationally; meanwhile, another crowned Momsen as the “Queen of rock and roll,” which honestly, I think would need no further debate.
But then, it got all weird. The departure thing put a strange accusal stain on the annoyed Australian named Kellie Shallue. “‘If the Australian woman wasn’t rude to me on Facebook she probably would’ve,’ the user went on, ‘Apparently she switched sides because today her Facebook says she supports Jesus Christ superstar. Maybe I can forgive her, but probably not.’” The reply: “I’m sorry but I have no idea what you are talking about.” Classic internet.
But lately, there has been a countdown. One fan wrote: ‘”Let rock roll on Wednesday 13,” while another tagged Momsen and the band with an “See you tonight!”‘
Then there was the hopeful one from Down Under: “I hope you come to Australia one day! I’ve always wanted to see you all perform.” Given the relentless touring schedule of the band, this wish will surely not be fulfilled for very long.
The Pretty Reckless have always been all about raw energy-both on-stage and amongst fans. That post isn’t an exception. Whether tossing out teasers about tour footage or accidentally triggering a bizarre social-media feud, they ain’t ever boring. And honestly? That is why people think back on them. No filters; no apologies; just rock and roll.
In case you missed the Paris show, this snippet is just some consolation. Short, loud, and worth hitting play again and again. If you were there? Lucky you. The rest of us will probably have to make do through those screens. Until, of course, the next baffling Facebook feud erupts. Whenever that happens first.
