TDP MLA Prasad Daggupati has faced backlash after a leaked audio clip of him abusing Jr NTR goes viral. In the audio clip, he even threatened to block the War 2 release.
TDP MLA Prasad Daggupati landed himself in a controversy after a leaked audio clip started circulating widely online. In this clip, Daggupati was reportedly heard using harsh language towards Jr NTR and saying he would stop the screening of Jr NTR’s new movie, War 2, in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The MLA reportedly said, “It doesn’t matter. War 2 will not be released, it won’t run, it won’t run. I am the MLA here,” warning that the film would be blocked. This has angered the Jr NTR fans.
What did Prasad Daggupati say in the audio clip?
Following the backlash over the leaked audio clip where he was allegedly heard abusing Jr NTR and threatening to block the screening of War 2 in Anantapur, Prasad Daggupati shared a video on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Daggupati apologised and clarified that the voice in the leaked audio wasn’t his.
The MLA in Telugu said, ‘Those audio calls are not mine. This is all being done as part of a political conspiracy. For the past 16 months, conspiracies have been plotted against me in the Urban constituency. From the beginning, I have been an admirer of the Nandamuri family. I have always loved watching Balakrishna and NTR’s movies. But today, fake audio calls have been created as if I abused Jr NTR. That call is fake, there is no truth in it.’
Daggupati also expressed an apology if the audio call had hurt the sentiments of Jr NTR’s fans. He clarified that even though he claimed he had no involvement in the alleged comments (since he denied the voice was his), he was offering the apology because his name had been mentioned in connection with the controversy and added, ‘I will always remain loyal to the Nara and Nandamuri families.’
