“Mr. Tyrese Gibson extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident that occurred while Mr. Gibson was away from his home,” the entertainer’s attorney Gabe Banks shared in a statement, via People.
“Upon learning of this unfortunate accident, Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment,” the attorney continued. “Concerning the misdemeanor warrant, Mr. Gibson is cooperating fully with authorities to address and resolve this matter responsibly.”
Attorney Banks adds that Tyrese is asking for “privacy and understanding as this matter is handled through the appropriate legal channels, and as he remains committed to the safety of his community and the well-being of all animals.”
That same day, Tyrese posted a video from a news segment about the incident, where he told the broadcast that he was in Los Angeles with his family at the time, his attorneys were handling everything, and if there was a time where he needed to turn himself in, he would have already.
Tyrese also noted that he is heartbroken that the neighbor family lost their dog, he’s praying for their healing and remains committed to facing this with honesty, responsibility and compassion.
