Son of renowned Malayalam actor Prem Nazir, actor Shanavas (70) died late Monday night. He passed away at approximately 11:50 PM at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where he had been receiving treatment for heart and kidney conditions from the previous four years. Shanavas lived in Vazhuthacaud’s Cordon Trinity 2B neighbourhood. After his condition apparently deteriorated on Monday night, he was taken to the hospital and tragically died there. The funeral will take place at the Palayam Muslim Jamaat Cemetery today, August 5.

He began his cinematic career in 1981 with the romantic film Prema Geethangal, which was directed by Balachandra Menon. Some of his prominent works are: Mazhanilavu, Eeyugam, Maniyara, Nilgiri, Garbhasreeman, and Zakariyayude Garbhinikal.
He has also acted in serials like Shankhumugham, Veluthu Katrina, Kadamattathu Kathanar, and Satyameva Jayate.
