Boston is looking ahead at a week of warmer temperatures and mostly dry weather over the first few days, according to National Weather Service forecasts.
“It looks like should be a pretty nice week coming up,” said NWS meteorologist Kyle Pederson. “For (precipitation) chances, not really seeing much until maybe Wednesday night into Thursday morning.”
The Boston area is expected start off the week Monday with warm weather and sunny skies similar to the weekend, NWS forecasts show. The high is forecasted to remain in the mid-70s, before temperatures head down towards the mid-50s Monday night.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will likely stay in the warm mid-70s range, with skies remaining mostly sunny through the mid-week and a calm wind cooling the region down, forecasts show.
Wednesday night heading into Thursday morning the skies are expected to turn mostly cloudy, NWS forecasts. A 30% chance of rain kicks in after 3 a.m. Thursday and is expected to remain through the day, forecasts show.
“(Precipitation) might be closer to the Cape and the Islands,” Pederson said. “That’s really it for precipitation chances this week.”
Thursday may warm up slightly, reaching a high in the upper 70s, NWS states. Skies are forecast to be partly sunny through the day.
The stretch is expected to be warmer, Pederson said, “especially towards the end of the week.”
Friday is likely to reach a high towards the low 80s, as skies turn sunny, forecasts show.
Temperatures may drop back down to more seasonal cool fall weather heading into the next weekend, NWS forecasts, as highs drop off significantly to the upper 60s Saturday and Sunday. Both days are expected to remain mostly sunny and dry.
