BOSTON, OCTOBER 8, 2025: International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that first-chair trial and appellate star Adam Gershenson is joining as a partner in the Litigation Department in the firm’s Boston office.
Adam advises clients on national and international trade secret disputes and has deep experience in artificial intelligence-related matters. He has secured victories in national and international disputes involving unfair competition, breaches of contract, false advertising and patents. He has represented clients at the U.S. Supreme Court, multiple state Supreme Courts, the International Trade Commission and circuit courts.
“We have always had a world-renowned corporate bench and full-service transactional capabilities in Weil’s Boston office and, with Adam, we continue the expansion of absolutely leading-notch litigation and trial expertise in this market,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “We could not be happier to be welcoming Adam, as we continue to enjoy a truly national expansion of our litigation offerings.”
Adam’s arrival marks the 14th lateral litigation partner in the US and the 4th lateral partner addition to the Boston office since the start of 2025. In Boston, Weil has brought on Chris Henry in the IP, Technology & Science practice from Latham; Xander Tabloff in the Employment Practice Group from Goodwin Procter; and Liza Cotter in the Technology & IP Transactions practice from Cooley.
“Adam’s a rare talent with extraordinary strategic judgment and the versatility to represent clients at high-stakes trials and on appeal,” said Drew Tulumello, Co-Chair of Weil’s global Litigation Department. “His addition immediately enhances our firepower in prominent AI, technology and bioscience disputes and trade secret matters.”
“The explosive growth in AI and biosciences is creating new challenges for the protection of proprietary information,” said Ramona Nee, Co-Managing Partner of the Boston office, Co-Head of the Firm’s U.S. Private Equity practice and Co-Managing Partner of Weil. “Adam’s deep subject matter expertise will make him a fierce advocate for our clients as they seek to protect their most valuable innovations.”
Chambers USA ranks Adam Band 1 in Commercial Litigation and describes him as “a phenomenal litigator with incredible creativity and a diligence that is unmatched.” He has designed programs to protect the most valuable confidential information of some of the world’s most sophisticated companies. Adam has also served as co-chair of the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section’s Joint Task Force on Model Trade Secret Practice.
Adam joins Weil from Cooley LLP where he was a partner and leader of that firm’s AI task force. Earlier, he wrote articles for The New York Times.
“Weil is unsurpassed in its commitment to meeting the needs of clients in the highest-stakes IP and trade secret disputes,” said Adam. “The caliber of trial lawyers here and the Firm’s relentless focus on client service make this the perfect platform for my practice.”
