Kaitlin Olson‘s High Potential actually aired its mid-season finale episode last night, so the show is today going on hiatus. Most network TV shows actually end up going on hiatus around late November/December for the holiday season, so this is normal. It’s unclear why High Potential is taking off a little earlier, but it will return on Tuesday (January 6) at a new time – 9pm ET. It could be that High Potential aired alongside Dancing with the Stars all season, which starts a bit earlier in September than some other network shows. ABC has not confirmed this, though.
And, when we DO get a new episode, don’t expect immediate answers!
“I don’t love direct pickups,” showrunner Todd Harthan told TV Line of where we’ll be in January.
For the season’s 8th episode, “We came up with this clever little device that kicks off the episode in a way that I think is surprising and interesting. It’s not like she’s in the hotel room wondering what she’s going to do today. It gives us some interesting backfill about what happened in that hotel room in the time between getting that call and getting to a crime scene. Karadec has some questions for her, so we start with a really fun, juicy scene at the best of the next one.”
