
A woman is dead and a man has life-threatening injuries after a morning shooting Wednesday in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston. A man has been arrested.The shooting happened just after 10 a.m. on Faraday Street. Video from Sky5 showed the victims on stretchers being put in ambulances.Several evidence markers were placed on the street near a sport utility vehicle that had a shattered passenger side window. Nearby cameras captured the sound of several gunshots.Witnesses said first responders performed CPR on one of the victims, who is believed to be a woman. Both victims were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries, and the woman later died. Jonathan Hernandez, 41, of Hyde Park, was arrested and charged with murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to murder. He will be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.The victims’ names have not been released.City Councilor Enrique Pepen said the shooting was targeted. “All we know is that it definitely was a targeted event. This was not a random act of violence. This was something that we could say is gang related,” he said.
