A 23-year-old has been charged with murder just hours after allegedly walking into a wedding venue with a handgun and shooting and killing a man in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday.
The shots rang out right as the reception was getting underway.
This all happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Sky Meadow Country Club. The attorney general announced early Sunday that 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau has been charged with the murder of 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare with a handgun. The AG said there is no known connection between the two, and it does not appear either had a connection to the wedding. Two other adults were shot and injured but do not have life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses say they saw the shooter walk in from the restaurant at the venue and heard him say “the kids are OK and free Palestine.” A man who was at the wedding told us he heard the gunfire and then saw the shooter.
Multiple people were injured during a shooting at a country club in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday night, leaving one man dead, and another in custody.
“It was really strange. The one thing I can say is when he was walking across the dance floor, I could tell he was the guy because he wasn’t dressed up for a wedding, he wasn’t dressed up to go to dinner and for lack of a better definition he just looked like a weirdo,” said Mike Homewood of Mike’s Styles, who was at the event.
“We were trying to keep family members safe. It was weird because everyone just dropped and rolled. The way this world is going with shooting. We just wanted to keep family safe, keep everyone down and try to find safe spots,” Tom Bartelson of Pembroke said.
Nadeau is charged with second-degree murder and will be arraigned tomorrow in Nashua. The AG says they do not believe anyone else was involved but the case remains under investigation.
The Sheraton in Nashua was used for reunification of the people at the wedding with their families. The Red Cross was there with therapy dogs to help people with the trauma of what happened at the wedding.
