
Boston police are investigating after a gay couple was attacked in Mattapan. Police arrived at 550 River St. on the evening of Sept. 13 for a report of a fight. One of the victims told police that he and his partner were walking toward a convenience store when a nearby group of men began hurling anti-homosexual comments at them. The victim said that a verbal dispute, which later led to a physical altercation, began after he and his partner approached the group. According to a Boston police report, two of the men in the group were seen swinging unidentifiable objects. One of the victims told police that his partner had been anthem in the head with a baseball bat. His partner was later found by officers lying in the parking lot bleeding from the back of his head, police said. The injured victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital for further evaluation. His current condition is unknown.His partner was later interviewed by police. Police have not announced any suspects or arrests in the incident.
