Even with rookie Jaxson Dart set to take over as the starting quarterback, the New York Giants’ disastrous 0-3 start has left fans angrier than ever — so much so that they’re once again renting airplanes to fly protest banners above MetLife Stadium.
According to the New York Post, multiple planes carrying disparaging messages are scheduled to circle over East Rutherford during Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers. The flyovers come less than a week after veteran Russell Wilson was benched in favor of Dart, a move meant to breathe life into a stagnant offense but one that hasn’t done much to cool the outrage among the fanbase.
Protest in the Skies
George Dunner, sales manager at High Exposure Aerial Advertising in New Jersey, confirmed that at least one plane has already been booked to tow an anti-Giants message. Another company, AirSign North, has a second protest flight lined up. Only two planes are permitted to fly in MetLife’s airspace at once under Port Authority regulations — but Dunner hinted that interest in booking more banners is growing.
“The frustration is very real,” Dunner told the outlet. “Fans want to get their message across, and this is one way they know they’ll be heard.”

Familiar Tactics
This isn’t the first time Giants ownership has been targeted with aerial demonstrations. Last December, during a 3-14 season that left the franchise in shambles, planes circled the stadium with scathing banners aimed directly at team president John Mara.
One banner read: “MR MARA ENOUGH – PLZ FIX THIS DUMPSTER FIRE” while another bluntly declared: “MR MARA ENOUGH – WE WON’T STOP UNTIL YOU FIRE EVERYONE.”
Despite the outcry, Mara stuck with head coach Brian Daboll, though the temperature on Daboll’s seat has only risen after three consecutive losses to open the season.

More Pressure on Mara
What the new banners will say this Sunday remains to be seen, but they’re almost certain to take aim at Mara again. Fans believe the front office has failed to address years of dysfunction, and the addition of Wilson — who was supposed to stabilize the quarterback position — has only added fuel to the fire after his disastrous start.
immediately, with Dart making his first career NFL start against a Chargers team that has yet to lose, tensions are likely to be at a boiling point. For Giants fans, the message is clear: benching Wilson wasn’t enough. They want accountability at the very best, and they’re willing to pay to have their frustrations written across the sky.
