Tyreek Hill was in so much agony after dislocating his knee on Monday night that he had to force himself to laugh just to stay conscious — at least, that’s what his former Dolphins teammate Terron Armstead tells TMZ Sports.
Armstead says that shortly after Hill was carted off the field during Miami’s “Monday Night Football” matchup against the New York Jets, the injured wide receiver gave him a call — and described the shocking state he was in during the moment.
“He was laughing through the pain,” Armstead recalled. “Because it was either that or pass out.”

Fans watching at home noticed Hill grinning as he was being taken to the locker room — and according to Armstead, that wasn’t because he was unfazed by the injury. It was pure survival mode.
Despite suffering a brutal setback, Armstead said Hill was somehow “in good spirits” when they spoke. The 31-year-old reportedly tore multiple ligaments in his knee after landing awkwardly on a third-quarter catch, and he underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair the damage.
Before heading into the operating room, Hill posted a message from his hospital bed — thanking his supporters and asking for continued prayers.
Armstead, who shared the locker room with Hill for three seasons in Miami, has full confidence the speedster will bounce back quickly.
“He’s someone that will attack this rehab full throttle,” Armstead said. “He’ll do everything possible to get back to being the Tyreek Hill we all know.”
Even in one of the most painful moments of his career, Hill found a way to smile — and according to those closest to him, that’s exactly the attitude that’ll get him back on the field.
