Andy Cohen clarified his comment about “never” wanting to see Jen Shah on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City again. The host also hinted that certain Housewives confronted him after his “misconstrued” interview about his “favorite Housewives.”
Last week, a video leaked of Andy sharing in a Q&A for movie What Happens Live that he never wanted to see Jen again, after she pleaded guilty to charges involving a telemarketing scheme. Jen then seemingly clapped back, hinting at unaired conversations with Bravo ahead of her future release.
Around the same time, headlines began surfacing that, in an interview for E!, Andy left NeNe Leakes and Vicki Gunvalson out when asked about his list for Real Housewives Mount Rushmore.
On Andy Cohen Live, Andy first addressed his statement about Jen.
“That video leaked from my Q&A the other day, that Jen Shah video,” said Andy. “Someone asked, like, will we be seeing … Jen Shah on [Real Housewives of] Salt Lake City? I don’t even know when it was from … It looked like it was like a year old or something like that.”
“And you know what? I get real mouthy sometimes during those Q&As, and they’re not supposed to be videoing,” he went on. “Sometimes I just say way too much. And I was like, ‘I never want to see her again,’ or something like that. I mean, there’s no putting the words back in my thing.”
On the same show, Andy also clarified his interview for E!.
“So basically Bruce [Bozzi] interviewed me for E! a couple weeks ago, and he was asking me about the Housewives as they relate to soap opera stars,” he explained. “I go, ‘You know, I look at a lot of the OGs and I look at how much their lives have changed or how identifiable they are with this brand of Housewives — people like Kyle Richards or Caroline Manzo or this one or that one.’”
He continued, “I said all these people, and they started showing clips and somehow what I said got misconstrued into the headlines [becoming], ‘Andy Cohen Lists His Favorite Housewives.’ And I was like, ‘No, no.’”
“And by the way, I heard from several Housewives who I didn’t mention,” he continued. “And I was like, ‘Okay … I was just flippantly talking about it.’ And then, by the way, I did mention a whole list — they only used a few in this E! thing.”
