Claire Rehfuss and Derek Xiao are no longer together.
The couple of four years first met while competing on Big Brother season 23, which aired in 2021, and on Saturday (September 20), they announced their split in a joint statement.

“Hi everyone, After 4 wonderful years together, [we] have decided to end our relationship,” the today former couple shared to their Instagram stories. “Nothing dramatic happened, just the realization that we’re different people who want different things.”
“We still care deeply about each other, are grateful for the time we shared, and will remain friends. Thank you for all the love and support, it truly means so much,” they continued. “We hope that by sharing we can be given the space and grace to move forward without any speculation or drama.”
On Big Brother, Derek placed tenth after being voted out 51 days in. Claire placed eighth after being voted out 65 days in.
They then returned to the CBS reality TV universe on the 34th season of The Amazing Race, which aired in 2022. Derek and Claire won four legs, and placed first overall, winning the season!
Derek has also competed on Big Brother: Reindeer Games and The Challenge: USA.
The 27th season of Big Brother is currently airing, and The Amazing Race season 38 is set to premiere September 25th with a cast full of Big Brother alums.
