BOSTON — The Boston Celtics wrapped up preseason play with a narrow 110-108 win on Wednesday night over the Toronto Raptors. It came down to the final moments of the game, as Celtics big man Xavier Tillman Sr. netted a floater to break the tie with 1.4 seconds remaining on the clock.
Tillman’s minutes down the stretch were huge. He finished with seven points and seven rebounds in just 16 minutes of play. It wasn’t all good news for the Green Team though, as star Jaylen Brown left the game in the first quarter due to tightness in his left hamstring. The longest-tenured Celtic finished with seven points and two rebounds through just seven minutes of play.

Tillman aside, Celtics guard Derrick White shined the brightest for Boston. He led all scorers with 33 points and also contributed nine rebounds, six assists, and four blocks in 35 minutes. Raptors star Brandon Ingram led Toronto with 20 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Although it was a preseason contest, the Raptors played all of their starters besides guard Gradey Dick. The Celtics also played most of their main guys, however, their starting lineup is less solidified.
Up next for Boston is the regular season. The C’s will host the rival Philadelphia 76ers for their opener on October 22.
