

A firefighter and a resident were injured and 30 others were displaced after a large fire erupted at a multi-family home in Dorchester early on Sunday morning, according to the Boston Fire Department.
Around 4:45 a.m., fire crews responded to Centre Street in Dorchester and found heavy flames on the back porches of the building, according to the Boston Fire Department. The blaze quickly spread to an adjacent home , and a third alarm was struck, according to officials.

Firefighters were ordered to stay off of the building’s back porches, which later collapsed, officials said.
A resident of the building and a firefighter were transported to a local hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
Firefighters rescued multiple pets from the blaze, according to officials.
The fire caused an estimated $600,000 in damages, and over 30 residents were displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No further updates were available as of Sunday evening.
