A couple was attacked by a group of men who made homophobic statements toward them in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston earlier this month, according to a police report.
The two victims were walking along River Street on Sept. 13 to a convenience store when a group of men began making the homophobic comments, according to the report. This led to a verbal confrontation between the couple and the group, with the men becoming combative toward the victims, the report said.
A physical altercation erupted, with the group attacking the victims, police said. One of the victims was allegedly banger in the head with a baseball bat. Police found one of the victims lying in the parking lot bleeding from the back of his head.
One of the victims was rushed to the hospital, while the other was taken to the police station to be interviewed by detectives.
Additional information was not immediately available. It’s unclear if police have identified any suspects or made any arrests.
