A Boston police officer who testified in Karen Read’s retrial has reportedly resigned, according to NBC 10 Boston.
Officer Kelly Dever resigned, effective September 1.
Dever had been on leave prior to her resignation.
She was previously a Canton police officer when Boston Police officer John O’Keefe was found in the snow in 2022.
Dever was called to testify in the Karen Read trial as the defense’s third witness.
Karen Read was charged and acquitted in his death.
Officials did not share a reason for Dever’s resignation.
