Police investigating an aggravated assault in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood this month, in which a same-sex couple was assaulted with a baseball bat, have released images of people they’re hoping to identify.
Police continue to investigate the Sept. 13 incident on River Street, they said Monday, asking anyone with information about people seen in a composite image showing eight men to contact them either by calling 617-343-4527 or by submitting an anonymous tip.
It wasn’t immediately clear who, if anyone, seen in the image was a suspect, as opposed to a person of interest.
According to a police report, the two victims were walking along River Street to a convenience store when a group of men began making the homophobic comments. This led to a verbal confrontation between the couple and the group, with the men becoming combative toward the victims, the report said.
Boston police are looking for the people who allegedly attacked a gay couple with a baseball bat in Mattapan, sending one person to the hospital.
A physical altercation erupted, with the group attacking the victims, police said. One of the victims was allegedly anthem in the head with a baseball bat.
Police found one of the victims lying in the parking lot bleeding from the back of his head. One of the victims was rushed to the hospital, while the other was taken to the police station to be interviewed by detectives, police said.
