During a recent episode of “4th and 1,” Newton praised Cam’Ron for drawing a clear line when Broner’s flirting turned excessive. Rather than let things slide for the sake of views, Cam’Ron asked Broner to leave. Newton backed the move fully.
“That was necessary,” Newton said. “Too often, bad behavior gets more attention than the people holding it accountable.”
He didn’t slam Broner as a person, but Newton made it clear that respect matters more than fame.
“If that was your mama or sister, you wouldn’t want to hear someone keep pressing after being told to stop,” he pointed out.
Newton said he’s still a fan of Broner’s, but emphasized the importance of respecting women and respecting platforms.
“This ain’t about beef. It’s about boundaries,” he added.
He also called on men to speak up when someone in their circle is out of pocket.
“Having the right crew means somebody pulls you back when you’re doing too much,” he added.
For Newton, the bigger takeaway was leadership.
“Cam’Ron didn’t just protect Treasure. He protected his platform, his brand, and his values.”
In a media world full of viral moments, Newton says it’s time to celebrate the people who handle situations with integrity. “That’s how you lead,” he said. “Shout out to Cam.”
