Prosecutors dropped all charges against Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins. The Ohio State standout was arrested in July.
The Browns who drafted Judkins in the second round were not in a hurry to sign him after his arrest on misdemeanor battery and domestic violence charges in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Judkins was accused of punching a woman at the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort in Fort Lauderdale on July 12. He was released the next day and a Broward County judge ordered Judkins to stay away from the woman who he’s in a relationship with.

Judkins, 21, who is 6’0″ and 220 lbs, is accused of punching the woman in her face with a closed fist at the luxury hotel. In another incident on July 7, the woman claims Judkins punched her in the left thigh and arm while they were leaving the Fort Lauderdale International Airport in a rental car.
The Broward County State Attorney’s Office decided not to move forward with the case after reviewing the woman’s photo evidence.
“This incident was not captured on any video surveillance. There are no independent witnesses to the incident. Although the victim had photos showing injuries sustained, there were also videos in that same time frame where no injuries were observed to the victim,” stated a memo from the State Attorney’s Office, obtained by ESPN.
The State Attorney’s Office said the woman’s injuries could have been caused by incidental contact.
Additionally, the woman delayed reporting the incidents to police.
“The delay is problematic as the victim was alone on numerous occasions without the Defendant, had the ability and resources to make the report without his knowledge, but chose not to do so,” the prosecutor stated.
“For the reasons set forth above, there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction and this case is being declined.”
Judkins has not been with the team since his arrest. He has yet to sign his rookie contract with the Browns.
NFL teams are wary of signing players accused of domestic violence as it indicates a lack of maturity and self-discipline.
