The release trailer for the Sheen documentary “AKA CHARLIE SHEEN” is another Netflix poster set ablaze onto the social media platform. This biography promises an in-your-face look at the controversial actor: the meteoric rise, tragic fall(s), and everything in between. The trailer is filled with confessions, revelations, and Sheen-style messiness-and the people have opinions.

The trailer begins with Sheen stating very bluntly, “How do I present this with any class? I think we’re past that.” To me, this very much sets the tone for all that is to follow. Many interview clips show Sheen talking about his addiction issues, career highs and lows, court cases bearing his name, and mayhem one after the other. “Shame is suffocating,” he says at one point. There are also clips of him jokingly talking about smoking “seven-gram rocks” and those winning years, that transformative public meltdown moment. Much. And so are the reactions to it.
Some viewers are hyped: Legend!!! I can’t wait!!!” wrote one, summing up the excitement of so many who grew up watching Sheen on “Two and a Half Men” and in other classics like “Hot Shots.” One even called him “one of the best comedians in the USA,” praising his outspoken nature. Then there were the nostalgic. The person insisted Sheen was her “first celebrity crush because of Hot Shots.” (Same here.)
Others sulk. The comment section is a good space for those detractors berating Sheen’s past controversies from his disclosure drama over his HIV diagnosis to darker, baseless allegations. “How are people obsessed with this pedo? Disgusting,” said one, while another straightaway threw Corey Haim’s name. Yeah… it was messy.
Those chaotic-neutral types are here for laughs only. “Seven grams in a banger, not an easy feat let me tell you hahaha,” one user said, pretty much summarizing the insane genius behind Sheen’s tabloid reign across the country. Another joked, “Heidi Fleiss is still alive? Holy crap.” (Priorities.)
The documentary is poised to lift the curtain on all the intoxications, scandals, and attempts at redemption in the middle. Whether you love him, hate him, or just want to series the train wreck, one thing is obvious-people will be watching.

Sheen’s life has always been a rollercoaster, and this one seems to be the unvarnished post-game analysis nobody thought they ever wanted. Will it change public perception? Probably not. Will it entertain? Certainly. Fasten your seat belts!
