The good news is that Tuesday will deliver a bit of a change in the weather pattern, for the better. A pocket of high pressure will begin to work into the region from the west, making for a clear day, but it will be a slow progression throughout the afternoon.
The morning will begin around the freezing mark, with commuting temperatures in the low 30s. But there will still be a breeze from the west–northwest under mostly sunny skies. The wind won’t be as strong as what we felt on Monday, but it will be enough to make it feel like it’s in the 20s across all of Southern New England and into the single digits across portions of extreme Northern New England on Tuesday morning.

Afternoon highs will slowly crawl into the mid- to upper 40s across Boston, increasing a few degrees, relatively warmer than Monday.

Almost all of New England will see more sunshine throughout the day.

Zooming into New England, there’s really not much to complain about as far as precipitation goes. There might be a spot snow shower across extreme Northern New England, but really not much in terms of additional accumulation compared to the past few days.

With a system still lurking over Eastern Canada, the pressure gradient will be better, but still rather strong, prompting a westerly breeze of 10 to 15 mph with a few gusts between 20 and 25 mph.

Winds will be a bit more relaxed on Tuesday evening if you have any plans, dropping to about 10 mph with hardly any gusts. The region will still feel below freezing during the commute home.
