Diddy Wants To Plead His Case At Sentencing + Plans To Address Judge & Reveal Rehab Progress
Diddy is preparing to break his silence in court for the first time since his conviction, hoping his words will sway the judge before sentencing.
The track mogul plans to personally address Judge Arun Subramanian during Friday’s hearing, according to documents filed by his attorney, Teny Geragos.
“The sentencing proceeding holds significant importance for Mr. Combs,” Geragos wrote. “He wishes to appear before the Court, address Your Honor, and allocute in the most dignified and respectful fashion possible.”
Diddy also requested to wear street clothes instead of a jail jumpsuit, aiming to present himself respectfully in front of the court and the victims.
This marks Diddy’s first opportunity to speak publicly about the charges, as he did not testify during trial. He’s expected to discuss his time in rehabilitation programs at Brooklyn MDC, including the STOP Program for v*olence prevention.
One victim, referred to as “Mia,” is also expected to deliver a victim impact statement.
