Jaswinder Bhalla Death: The whole Punjabi film industry and fans are in deep grief following the death of renowned Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla on Friday at the age of 65. Following a brain haemorrhage, the actor was taken to Fortis Hospital, where he passed away at 4:35 AM. Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh was one of the first members of the Punjabi cinema fraternity to express his respects as condolences flooded in from all around the nation. Taking to his Instagram Story, Diljit shared a photograph of Bhalla and wrote, “Oh Waheguru.”

Famous for his sarcastic genius in the popular series Chhankata and his comic timing in movies like Carry on Jatta and Jatt & Juliet, Jaswinder Bhalla left a lasting influence on Punjabi cinema. His clever repartee, brilliant one-liners, and seamless performances have earned him the admiration and respect of audiences over the years.
CM Bhagwant Mann offers condolence
Political leaders also conveyed their grief at his death and praised both his artistic and societal accomplishments. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to X to share his grief, writing, “The sudden departure of Jaswinder Bhalla Ji from this world is extremely sorrowful. The heart is saddened by the silence of the jingle of Chhankatian. May Waheguru grant him a place at His feet. Chacha Chatar will always reside in our hearts.”
In a statement, Fortis Hospital, where Bhalla was hospitalised on August 20, detailed his last days. It said, “He was in a critical condition on admission. He was under the care of the Neurosurgery team and managed on ventilator and cardio supportive drugs for 2 days. Due to the severity of his illness, he passed away today at 04:35 am despite receiving the best clinical care and all resuscitation efforts.”
Several celebrities and business acquaintances rushed to his Mohali residence after hearing of his tragic demise to offer their condolences and support to his grieving family.
