Yesterday marked the beginning of the school year in Monaco, and, like thousands of other parents, Prince Albert and Princess Charlène of Monaco did not want to miss out on capturing memories of the first day of school for their children. The official social media accounts of the principality published several photographs of the royal twins’ first day back in the classroom, honoring the tradition of doting families the world around. In the photos, newly minted fifth graders Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques hold hands and wear the uniform of the Institution François D’Assise-Nicolas Barré, their Catholic school near the Grimaldi palace. Gabriella donned a red polo shirt and navy blue pleated skirt with matching shoes, and her brother wore navy slacks and sneakers.
In another photo, we get a glimpse of their personalities, courtesy of their carefully selected backpacks. Gabriella’s is sky blue and decorated with the Cinnamoroll bear character, with the added flair of a Labubu, the wildly popular monster doll also beloved by many celebrities. Jacques, on the other hand, opted for a black and teal Roblox-themed design for his bag, paying tribute to one of the most popular online games among children and teenagers.

And lest we forget about the proud parents of the students, the principality shared a family photo. Prince Albert, wearing a navy blue blazer and pale blue shirt with slacks, and Charlène, in a white shirt, jeans, and platform sandals, pose with their school-bound children.
The caption reads, “Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella resumed their walk to school on Monday morning. A new school year full of discoveries, friendships, and adventures awaits them. The royal family wishes all the students of the principality a very nice start to the school year!”
The twins have been attending the private school, which has been active in Monaco since 1859, since 2021. The school touts its emphasis on “the worth of effort, tolerance, respect, solidarity, and freedom.”
