A gaming influencer and former OnlyFans model, who goes by Fandy, shocked her followers by giving birth during an eight-hour livestream.
Fandy streamed the entire process via Twitch, beginning Tuesday, October 7, and ending early the next morning as she held her newborn daughter, Luna, for the final 45 minutes of the broadcast. More than 50,000 people watched the streamer, whose usual content involves playing games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends.
“I live streamed my birth to my community I had been streaming to for 10 years,” Fandy, 33, wrote via Instagram later on Wednesday. “I’m very grateful for the amount of people who tuned in to share the special moment with us, and incredibly grateful to my amazing friends who dropped everything that day to help support me through the whole thing!”
In the video, which she titled “Water Broke, Baby Time,” Fandy is seen in an inflated tub filled with water and her husband, Adam, by her side. They were also joined by a team of people there to help with the birth and live stream.
At the end of the broadcast, Adam thanked viewers for tuning into what he called “an insane experience.”
In Fandy’s Instagram post, she also acknowledged the criticism that has come pouring in since the live stream.
“There are TONS of births that have been documented,” she wrote. “This is no different from the thousands of them out there, it was just done in a live format, which showed the entirety of the birth process — the ugly and the not so pleasant parts included.”
She continued, “It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and I chose to do a home birth because my previous birth was in a hospital setting and I was not a fan of how much agency over it you aren’t allowed to have. I had a plan set in the off chance that there were complications for transfer to a hospital, and made sure I was a low risk pregnancy and did my due diligence to make sure everything was done safely! My midwife and nurse had done their job for 20+ years and delivered thousands of babies. I felt very comfortable with my choice for my family.”
Fandy also clapped back at those who accused her of profiting off of her daughter’s birth, saying she never asked for subscriptions or made goals during the stream.
“I’m not sure I even had alerts on,” she wrote. “Ads were lowered to minimal levels like they always are and not raised. And seeing as how this isn’t going to be my everyday content, it wasn’t about building a new audience. She was not used for my personal gain, I was sharing something personal and in doing so making a memory I’ll never forget.
Lastly, she noted that she deactivated her OnlyFans account and would be returning to content creation as a full-time streamer.
“I started my content creation journey 10 years ago as just a streamer and that’s what I’m going to just be from today on,” she concluded. “My next arc starts today. Thanks for being a part of the journey.”
