Boxer Gervonta Davis will not face prosecution after an alleged domestic violence victim refused to move forward with the case.
Last month, the WBA lightweight champ was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, on a misdemeanor battery charge following a heated altercation involving the mother of two of his children.
According to police, the incident occurred on June 15 when Davis arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s home to pick up their kids. Things reportedly took a turn after a verbal dispute over “personal matters and Gervonta having insecurities about the sexuality of their son,” per the official report.
After the children were placed in Davis’ vehicle, she claims the boxer struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist and then slapped her in the face.
“This case was dropped as the victim is declining to prosecute per her victim attorney, Lindsey Chase, Esq. and her sentiments we directly confirmed by the Assistant State Attorney handling the prosecution,” the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office told TMZ Sports.
Davis has not publicly addressed the incident.
