Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife, Mariah, is following in the footsteps of rapper Ludacris‘ wife Eudoxie, a.k.a. Fab, who moved back to her native Gabon, Africa with their children.
Mariah, a native of San Diego, California, moved permanently with her and Giannis’ four children to Athens, Greece.
According to reports, the 2 eldest children are already enrolled in private school there.
Mariah and the children moved into a custom-built penthouse in a new, high-security apartment complex that is also home to the NBA superstar’s brothers and widowed mother.
According to “To Vima,” the family lives in a brand new futuristic-looking apartment complex in a well-guarded “diplomatic row” neighborhood. The complex features separate apartments for each of Giannis’ brothers, and one for his mother.
After months of discussions with his family, Mariah decided to leave America permanently and move to Greece with the children.
Giannis, who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, will remain in Milwaukee until the NBA season is over. He will return to Greece to see his family as often as his schedule allows.
Mariah and the kids will reportedly return to Milwaukee for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Last month, Giannis played for the Greek national team in the Eurobasket 2025 competition. His team won third place and the bronze medal.

Mariah received death threats from Turkish fans during the basketball tournament. She addressed the threats on her Instagram page after the tournament ended.
“People in this world are so disappointing! All this over basketball. I hope those making hateful comments and sending disgusting messages to my family are proud of themselves. But since you want to contact me privately, I’ll make sure the world knows who you are publicly! And to all the fans of Turkey, congratulations on your silver medal — you have an amazing team! However, there is no place for this kind of behavior in sports. In fact, there is no place for this kind of behavior, period!!”
Dozens of American celebrities have moved to other countries since President Donald Trump was reelected in November 2024.

In July, rapper Ludacris flew to Gabon in Africa to reunite with his wife, Eudoxie, and their daughters, Cadence and Chance, who moved there permanently.
Ludacris’s other daughters – Karma and Cai, also visited with Eudoxie in her native homeland.
“Can you tell my daughters missed me?” Luda wrote in the caption of a video shared on X (Twitter) in July.
