Over the weekend, the CMG rapper went all out to celebrate her father, Edwin C. Woods Sr., as he officially retired after nearly three decades working for the United States Postal Service.
At a private event in Memphis, Glo delivered a heartfelt tribute and then dropped a surprise that left Mr. Woods in awe.
“We celebrating my dad, his retirement,” she said proudly. “I’m pretty sure the post office appreciate all your hard work. You know I appreciate all your hard work…So I got a gift for you for your retirement event. You gotta come outside.”
A brand new white Jaguar was waiting for Woods, as his event attendees looked on.
This isn’t the first time fans have seen the close bond between GloRilla and her father. Back in August on the “Tamron Hall Show,” Woods shared how proud he is of his daughter in a surprise video.
“I’m very proud of my daughter; she has risen from humble beginnings to going to the White House,” he said. “I am extremely proud of Gloria and may she have many, many more days of success.”
Through tears, GloRilla responded to the sweet footage, “I love my dad so much, he one of the closest people to my heart.”
It’s unknown what his retirement plans are, but Woods will certainly have more time to spend with Glo and the rest of his children.
