
As Flockhart, 60, put it to the NY Times, “We’ve had to work. We’ve had our ups, we’ve had downs like everybody else—mostly ups, which is good—and we just stay together. He’s the person that I want to call when something happens. That knee-jerk thing where I have to call Harrison.”
Wow, talk about your holy grails. And not only because their romance started with a comedy of cup errors.
Rather, both chose wisely, Ford after going through two divorces and Flockhart a year after deciding to adopt son Liam (immediately a 24-year-old Amherst graduate) as a single mom.
“When I met Liam, he was just beginning to walk, and it just didn’t matter to me,” Ford—who’s also dad to sons Ben, 58, and Willard, 56, with first wife Mary Marquardt, as well as son Malcolm, 37, and daughter Georgia, 35, with second wife Melissa Mathison—told the Times. “I had four children already, and I can’t count that well, so it didn’t make that much difference.”
