That’s singer, actor and marathon runner to you. Harry Styles has officially joined the world of long-distance running in 2025 — and it turns out, he’s actually really good at it.
The 31-year-old “Sign of the Times” singer just achieved his personal best at the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 21, crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 59 minutes and 13 seconds. That’s an average pace of 6:50 per mile — speedy enough to clock him in at 2,241st place overall and 524th in his over-30 age group. According to organizers, he maintained consistent splits, running the first half of the 26.2-mile race in 1:29:08 and the second in 1:30:06.
Styles, who competed under the name “Sted Sarandos” according to German outlet Der Tagesspiegel, was one of 80,000 runners making their way through the German capital. The scenic course took participants past famous landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column and the Reichstag parliament building. Known for being one of the world’s fastest and flattest marathon courses, Berlin has produced multiple world records over the years — though this year’s men’s winner, Sabastian Sawe, crossed the line at 2:02:16, and women’s champion Rosemary Wanjiru finished at 2:21:05.
Paralympic gold medalist Richard Whitehead even gave Harry a shoutout after snapping a photo together post-race. “2.58 in Berlin with my mate!! Anyone know him!! 😂,” Whitehead teased in an Instagram caption.
Berlin wasn’t Styles’ first time on the marathon circuit. Earlier this year, he ran the Tokyo Marathon in March and finished with an impressive time of 3:24:07. That means his Berlin finish shaved more than 25 minutes off his debut — a huge improvement for a newcomer to the sport.
Compared to other Hollywood stars who’ve tested themselves on marathon courses, Styles’ results are especially impressive. Colin Farrell has completed two marathons, clocking in at 3:53:14 at Brisbane in 2021 and 4:06:45 at Dublin in 2024. Jennifer Connelly finished the 2024 New York City Marathon in 3:45:47, while Ashton Kutcher completed the 2022 NYC Marathon in 3:54:01.
For Styles, who has already conquered beat and film, marathon running seems to be his up-to-date passion project. With Tokyo and Berlin under his belt — both part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors — fans are immediately wondering: will Harry take on London, New York, or even Boston next?
