Heather Dubrow and Terry Dubrow of the Between Us Podcast opened up a cheeky debate on social etiquette while querying their audience on their preference of saying just an Irish goodbye or a New York goodbye. With the clip of the episode going viral, many came forth to share their special stories and varying regional takes.

In the clip, Heather mentions, “I’m pretty prim and proper and was raised to say a hello and goodbye to everyone at every event,” admitting that this glare really bad PR for her early exits. Suddenly, Terry launched into a graphic tangent about bathrooms, and Heather cut in with, “I don’t think you and I have ever discussed something so disgusting for so long, publicly.”
In an extremely unusual turn of events, Terry went on to defend the concept of a courtesy flush, saying men would actually have “a colonic event anywhere,” to which Heather fired back, “Women are more discreet about choosing an appropriate time and place for it,” and it was back to their original farewell style conversation.
The fans simply poured out with enthusiasm. One exclaimed, “I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this podcast!!! I really love their relationship- you can tell they really love one another.” Another confirmed that they could keep listening to the couple all day, outlining the wonderful chemistry between them.
Most amusingly, however, were the comments from users sharing regional goodbye etiquette. One user referred to the “Midwest goodbye” as “hours long. 😂 from the couch, to the door, then the driveway, then standing outside the person’s car STILL talking. Usually takes about 3 hours to finish a Midwestern goodbye.” Another said the Italian is even longer but declined to take it further.
Others actually started leaning toward the Irish goodbye. One chimed, “I have been an Irish goodbye mami before I even knew it had a name. I have always just fade into the background or out the door lol.” Another one proudly said, “I am an O’Donnell, the Irish goodbye is my trademark.”
Using the reality television notoriety and medical background as a springboard for their candid conversations, the conspicuously witty Dubrows brilliantly blend unfiltered moments from their own lives with hilarious comic relief in a manner that has always managed to grab viewers, whether they’re chatting about anything from bathroom habits to social etiquette.
Another user took things down the cynical road by asking, “What has happened to Terry’s eyes? Has he had cosmetic work done or Botox & his nose is getting bigger & bigger.” Others defended him with one fan chiming in, “Your neck and lower half of your face looks great! Very subtle and natural.”
Whatever stage the podcast was set on was enough for the hosts to gain major engagement. The willingness of the Dubrows to shed light on the right and wrong sides of social etiquette only confirms that they’re willing to keep it real and relatable.
