In her first post since the tragic incident, Emilie explained that she was “really nervous” to return, and missed talked to her followers.
“I hope that in coming back and sharing a little bit of what I choose to, I can reconnect with you guys and hopefully help anyone who is going through a similar situation,” she said, adding that she’s been taking it day by day.
“I have obviously been offline for the last little bit. I’m just doing my best every day to figure this out, figure my life out,” Emilie added.
“Obviously you guys know that the last few months have been really, really hard, and I’m not going to sugarcoat it. I’m not going to lie. I’m not going to sit here and act like things are fine and dandy,” she went on to say.
“I don’t know how much I’m going to be willing to share about my grief journey. The last thing I want to do is put myself in a position where I’m sharing too much or I’m not ready to share stuff and I share it.”
Emilie added that there’s more to say, but she’s “just not ready right today.”
Her husband Brady was at home alone with Trigg and their infant son Theodore when the incident occurred. He told police Trigg was in the backyard without supervision before being found unconscious in the water. It was later revealed Trigg was unsupervised for nine minutes, and in the water for seven minutes, per Today.
Emilie spoke out in August for the first time, taking accountability. Find out what she said.
